1. Visa Application

Traveling to Thailand requires a visa, obtained from a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in the traveler's country of residence, for a convenient, quick and smooth journey.

2. Eligibility to Apply for a Thai Visa

  • Holds a valid passport or travel document, with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
  • Has evidence of onward travel out of Thailand, such as a flight ticket, along with a visa or proof of the ability to return to the country of residence or continue to another country (for transit travelers).
  • Is not a prohibited person under the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979).
  • Has sufficient funds for the stay in Thailand, at least 20,000 THB per person as required by regulation.

3. Visa Application Steps

  2. Check your eligibility
  3. Prepare the required documents
  4. Submit your applicationAt the Embassy or Consulate-General, along with the application fee

Obtaining a visa to attend a business event in Thailand

Travelers attending a business event in Thailand may need to obtain a visa before entering the country, depending on nationality, purpose and length of stay.

This ensures the journey to attend the business event in Thailand is convenient, quick and smooth.

Note: "When applying through the Thai E-Visa system, check the applicant's place of residence and the jurisdiction of the receiving Embassy or Consulate-General before applying, as the verification process may differ by application location, visa type and purpose of travel."

4. Visa-Exempt Countries

Under a Ministry of Interior announcement, foreign nationals holding a passport who travel to Thailand temporarily for tourism are exempt from a visa and permitted to stay for up to 30 days per visit, limited to 2 visits per calendar year, for the countries granted visa exemption.

5. Extending Your Stay in Thailand

Foreign nationals wishing to extend their stay in Thailand or change their visa type must submit a request at the Immigration Bureau, Government Complex, Chaeng Watthana Road, Bangkok. Tel. 02-141-9889 or 1178.
